Teaching and Learning
We want to give our learners an educational experience that lives beyond the four walls of a classroom and permeates into their whole journey with us
Teaching and learning are at the heart of what we do at Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion. Our ethos is to empower our staff, providing every learner with the opportunity to succeed and reach their full potential.
The college has strong focus on kindness and community and this naturally encompasses a very nurturing and supportive learning environment.
We achieve this by promoting a Culture of Curiosity
We believe in nurturing a Culture of Curiosity where our staff feel empowered to grow.
Our Pathways of Curiosity offers a unique and tailored approach to professional learning. Each year, staff are encouraged to follow a path that sparks their personal interests and helps them develop in areas they’re passionate about.
Every step of this journey is fully supported by our central Teaching and Learning Team, who work with faculty managers and senior leadership to make sure staff have everything they need to succeed. We also encourage staff to share and publish their work, celebrating their journey and discoveries.
We take care of our teachers, so they can take care of our students

We are Educators Who Never Stop Growing and Learning
“We recognise that all students learn differently and we are bound in our vision to provide engaging, innovative and supported learning experiences so that each learner may thrive.”

Festival of Practice

Every year, an informal celebration called Festival of Practice, brings together teaching staff from all seven campuses, to share their research and innovative practice.
The event celebrates the work of individuals and opens the floor for professional discussion amongst all our educators.
Our pathways of Curiosity is a bespoke series of professional learning routes that staff can opt to take in order to allow us to offer an even more personalised and tailored approach to professional learning.
Springboarded from the reflective process of the self evaluation and professional discussions, staff can opt to follow a pathway for an academic year based on areas for development and their natural sense of curiosity.
Each pathway is supported by the central Teaching and Learning team working in conjunction with faculty management teams and senior leadership.
