Join our Home Cookery Course at Coleg Sir Gâr and take your kitchen skills to the next level. Whether you’re a passionate home cook or just love food, you’ll learn expert techniques and time-saving tips from a professional chef.  Celebrate the best of seasonal produce and discover a few chef’s secrets along the way.

Each session explores fresh, seasonal ingredients and teaches you how to cook affordable, flavour-packed meals for the family. Dishes include homemade pasta, beef bourguignon, risotto, salmon en croûte, stuffed chicken with cheesy Welsh leeks, garlic focaccia, sauces, pastries and more. You’ll learn how to get the most from your ingredients while building practical skills.

What you will learn

This is an evening cookery course for anyone aged 16+. Most ingredients, a branded chef’s apron and use of knives provided. Various cooking methods, butchery, fishmongery and patisserie skills will be introduced into each session. The food that you cook will be yours to take away and enjoy at home.

You’ll be assessed through practical observation and tutor feedback during each session. On successful completion, you’ll receive a certificate.

You must be aged 16 or over. No academic qualifications are needed. Health and safety rules will be introduced and must be followed from the first session.

The course costs £217.00. This includes all food ingredients and staff support. You’ll need to bring a bib apron each week.
