Coleg Sir Gâr is pleased to announce that the planning application for our new further education campus in Carmarthen, ‘Campws Caerfyrddin’, has now been formally submitted to Carmarthenshire County Council.

This marks an important milestone in the College’s vision to create a modern, sustainable, and future-focused campus that will benefit learners, staff, employers, and the wider community for generations to come.

‘Campws Caerfyrddin’ will bring together state-of-the-art facilities designed to support high-quality teaching, innovation, digital learning, and vocational excellence. The development will strengthen the College’s estate, modernise our learning environments, and ensure that learners have access to the tools, spaces, and opportunities they need to succeed in an evolving economy.

Key features of the proposed campus include:

The project is being developed in partnership with Welsh Government, WEPCo, and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, reflecting shared ambitions for world-class post-16 education in the region.

Now that the planning application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by Carmarthenshire County Council as part of the statutory planning process.

Throughout the planning and development stages, the College is committed to:
