This IT course is a broad spectrum course giving a flavor of the wide field that is the IT industry. It is designed to be wide ranging to give potential learners an insight into the industry allowing learners a good oversight of the field before making any decisions to specialise.
The course is split into two sectors (creative and technical). The creative part includes several animation modules including stop motion, 2D animation, computer game design, digital graphics and interactive media development. The technical section includes modules on website development, social media, project planning and e-commerce.
This new qualification is aimed specifically at students aged 16 -19 and has been designed to be more relevant to further education as well as providing relevant and desirable skills for the workplace.

A Cambridge Technical is a vocational qualification at level three. They are an ideal foundation for students entering the workplace, providing them with a theoretical background reinforced with practical skills that transfer into the modern workplace. The extended diploma is equivalent to three A-levels and every unit is graded at pass (P), merit (M) and distinction (D) level.
Continuous assessment via assignment work.
Five GCSEs at grades A*-C, which includes either English language or Welsh (first language) and maths. Or successful completion of a level two vocational qualification in a relevant subject at merit or above.
All learners are required to pay an administration fee of £25 prior to enrolment.
You will need to provide your own stationary, and may also incur costs if the department arranges educational visits.
