Experience 'More Than Cinema': A Celebration of Student Creativity
Coleg Ceredigion’s level three, second year Creative Media Production students were proud to present “More Than Cinema”, a special end-of-year showcase celebrating their creativity, skills, and ambition.
The event took place at The Drwm at the National Library of Wales on 12 June, and featured an exciting selection of work from their final year.
This year’s showcase included work developed in partnership with the National Library of Wales, following a live brief to create short films that explore the importance of accessing original materials and cultural heritage.
As well as screening these commissioned films, the evening included a diverse programme of original student work, from narrative shorts and experimental films to photography, sound design, graphic design, and more – reflecting the wide scope of contemporary media practice.
Media lecturer, Sophia Bechraki said: “We’re incredibly proud of this year’s students and everything they’ve achieved. The course is designed to support each student’s individual creative path while setting high expectations for their work.
“It’s been fantastic to see them develop into confident, original creators, and this showcase is a real testament to their talent, dedication, and ambition. We wish them every success as they take their next steps into university, the industry, or their own creative ventures.”
With many students progressing to university and others already launching their own creative businesses, the event is a celebration of their hard work, talent, and exciting next steps into the creative industries.
