Dulcie Davies, an A-level student at Coleg Sir Gâr, is preparing for an exciting week of work experience at LW Theatres in London, which is part of the Andrew Lloyd Webber West End theatre group.

She will step behind the scenes of some of the West End’s most iconic productions as part of a technical work experience programme which includes stage management.

Working beside industry professionals at the top of their game, this experience will offer a hands-on insight into the technical and creative expertise that brings world-class theatre productions to life.

Dulcie already has local experience working in theatre groups and continued behind the scenes in Ffwrnes theatre, where she started out in 2022.

Looking for work experience in addition to her college work, Dulcie landed on the website of LW Theatres, and from there, put in a successful application.

This launched the next stage of the process with an online interview and chat with Beth Davies, learning and outreach coordinator at the theatre.

Dulcie is awaiting to hear which LW London theatre she will be working at but is excited to start. “I’ve always loved theatre, so when I found out there was an opportunity to do this, I was totally up for it.

“I like going backstage and making it all happen and I do like Andrew Lloyd Webber’s work and his adaptations of the classics so I’m really excited to go.”

Dulcie is a former St John Lloyd pupil who is currently studying A-level drama, RE and history.
