A Coleg Sir Gâr lecturer has had a second article published in a magazine by Children in Wales. 

The magazine has featured lecturer Nicky Abraham’s article in the winter edition of Children in Wales in an edition that focuses on mental health.

Gallery Gwyn in Aberaeron is hosting an exhibition of artworks by a group of Coleg Ceredigion students who recently graduated from a foundation art and design course.

Two current level three students of the college’s WJEC foundation art and design course have been co-curating the exhibition together with gallery curator, Helen Duffee.

Catering and hospitality students have been taking part in a range of competitions where they’ve demonstrated exceptional skills and diligence, proven by the medals they’ve earned.

All of the students taking part said they would enter more competitions to try and improve their own skills and gain more experience for their CVs and that they now have so much more confidence.

The work of the teaching and learning team at Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion has been recognised in a Routledge publication entitled Exploring Practitioner Research in Further Education Sharing Good Practice.

A whole chapter has been included in a section called ‘Models for Practitioner Research in FE’ that join other individual chapters from those involved with action research within further education.

Harry couldn’t believe he’d won gold at the Riso Gallo Risotto Chef Challenge, so when he heard he’d won the Welsh championship, to compete at the UK final, he was shocked but excited to go to London for the next stage.

Being selected for a UK final during his first year and at level one is an absolute phenomenal achievement.
